Here is a beautifully restored 1950's Gamewell. PUBLIC EMERGENCY TELEPHONE Call Box Telephone from Hello Central Antique Telephone Company. This is NOT a replica Emergency Telephone Call Box.
The Emergency Call Box Telephone was made by the Gamewell Company and is made of cast aluminum (herculite). It has a White Powder Coated Finish (baked on enamel) with professional hand painted Black Lettering. Inside the Call Box is a 1930-40's Western Electric Model 211 Telephone that has been converted for use on today's telephone system. The older style Western Electric "F-1" Handset is made of bakelite and includes a Cloth Covered Handset Cord. The Gamewell Emergency Call Box Telephone has a "spring loaded" Front Door Lock and a key is not required to open the front door.
The Front Door is the rarer and older style door with deep embossed lettering. The Public Emergency Telephone Call Box also features a working Top Light Assembly with a Ruby Red Glass Globe. The top light makes a great night light for your office, game room, den or other special area. The top light is controlled by an "on - off" line cord switch and plugs into a regular household AC outlet. This Public Emergency Telephone will work fine with "regular" telephone company service without a converter.
Be sure to ask about other Police, Sheriff, Fire Alarm, Taxi and or Railroad Call Box Telephone Restorations. T he attached pictures may show some reflections in the powder coated finish, it is in beautiful restored condition.
